1. Jazz Improvisation in the Kodály Classroom
Northwest Kodály Educators (NWKE) Fall Sharing Workshop, Fall 2017
Description: In this presentation, we considered strategies to incorporate jazz improvisation into the music classroom using pitched percussion instruments and discussed the resulting social benefits of collective group improvisation. The clinic also featured performing through call & response, motivic development through solfege-based patterns, 'trading fours', and creating a class arrangement.
